How We Started
Jeff Suiter, a civil engineer, founded Suiter Construction Company in 1987. Having spent a number of years as a project manager for a large commercial builder, Jeff wanted to take his knowledge of the building industry and start a business of his own. Jeff’s goal was to establish a service oriented, quality construction company to build custom homes. South Carolina’s low country was where he and his family wanted to be and with that in mind, Suiter Construction Company began. Since that time Suiter Construction Company has assisted in the design and construction of a couple sub-divisions and built many homes throughout Charleston and the surrounding areas.
Entering its 20th year, Suiter Construction Company remains strong offering clients confidence in the builder they have selected. Offices are maintained in Mt. Pleasant to serve clients both east of the Cooper and West Ashley including Seabrook and Kiawah Islands.
How We Operate
1) Pre-Construction Meeting: Bringing together the important players working on your project is key to making sure your house comes together as you have imagined it. Your architect and landscape architect will share their thoughts and suggestions with Suiter Construction, thereby enabling us to produce their vision and the house you will enjoy living in. Initial budgets are established at this time.
2) Estimate: By developing a budget and allowances for all aspects of the project, you will be able to manage the cost of your home. Suiter Construction will use the agreed upon budget and allowances to assist you in selecting appropriate building materials and interior finishes for your home.
3) On-Site Project Walk-Through: These meetings will occur regularly throughout the construction of your home to give you the opportunity to ask questions about upcoming phases of work, to review appliance, fixture and other selections you have made, and to check-over the layout of significant rooms. Most importantly, these meetings will give the homeowner the chance to make sure that the house being built is the house that they want down to the last detail.
4) Construction Selections: We will offer recommendations and give guidance as you review and select the numerous items needed for your home. We will ensure you have the best provider of services or products to fit within your budget allowances. If requested we will assist you in the selection process of any appliances, cabinets or fixtures needed for your home.
